When I was traveling in Europe earlier this summer, I read Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. I actually read the Farseer trilogy (Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin, and Assassin's Quest) as a teenager, but recently picked them up again. I mean, you' re of course quite right that “fitz” means “son of” in (for lack of a better word) this universe, but my impression of it in the Farseer universe was always pejorative; I never had the idea that Verity overlooked Fitz's illegitimacy. Tantor Media I borrowed this book from a friend. Assassin's Apprentice is the first volume in The Farseer Trilogy, my first work as Robin Hobb. Royal Assassin is the second book in the Farseer trilogy written by Robin Hobb. I loved the books so Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin, and Assassin's Quest were all awesome. I'll start off by saying that I loved this series, even more so than the Farseer Trilogy (although out f the 6 books I still find Assassin's Apprentice to be the best). It has never been available in I frequently receive queries as to how to find this book in hardcover. "All too often I find I have wandered far from a history of the duchies into a history of FitzChivalry. No, read isn't quite the word – devoured is more like it. I read them on my Nook and it was fabulous; I could read on the train, on the bus, on planes, in the evenings before bed, waiting in line for museums. But I kept having to remind myself that he was still just a boy in this book – by the end of this first part of the trilogy he is not in this country and time period of an age to vote, drink, or serve in the armed forces.
